Local2Cloud supports Time Banking     

DataKraft, the no coding software platform is pleased to announce the support of Local2Cloud, a complete web based community platform, for TimeBanking.

The social enterprise Local2Cloud initiative was set up by Jacques Lefebvre (a volunteering parent and Chief Technology Officer of DataKraft) with Declan Mooney from Conexus-International in February 2012. The idea emerged while facilitating Time Banking strategy workshops with each School as part of the Time Banking project preparation. Mr Lefebvre wanted to promote social responsibility as well as applying business strategies to achieve philanthropic goals for the L.A. (Lucan – Adamstown) Community.

Time Banking was set up in Sept 2011 by the collaboration of the Five Lucan and Adamstown Educate Together schools, Dublin South County Council and Irish software company DataKraft (www.datakraft.net).  It is launched on the 3^rd March 2012.

After the brainstorming workshops we organised with each school, I could see the enthusiasm of the participants their good will and their readiness to help and support their school. I was convinced that providing a time banking system as well as creating a complete web based community platform, would take the community involvement to the next level.

So we created Local2Cloud, which enables a single place for community members to learn about community events, activities and for groups and associations to communicate directly to their own members.
Combined with TimeBanking and volunteerism, this would facilitate communities to maximise its skills, good will and its own resources”.

Communities will have the following benefits:

• To offer a platform whereby the goodwill, skills and volunteerism can be channelled into approved time banking volunteer projects in the community;
• To reward volunteerism with time banking credits, increasing and acknowledging volunteerism in the community;
• To give local groups and associations an easy way to communicate to their local community and promote their planned activities and events;
• Community members can search events, groups, activities and volunteer projects in their area.  Consequently could increase their engagements within the community in their own areas of special interest.

The Local2Cloud project website has been developed by DataKraft on the DataKraft platform.
